-Acid Free paper avoids yellowing or breakdown

-Exposure to high moisture promotes mold growth and chemical breakdown therefore, keep them in a climate-controlled room with stable humidity between 40–50%

-Protective backing boards and mats must also be acid-free to prevent acid migration into the artwork

Limited editions offer rarity and suggest only a limited number of prints can be made available for purchase in the edition. For example, in a 10-print limited edition, once all 10 prints have sold, the prints will no longer be available in the varying format that sets it apart from other open edition prints. These standout factors can include a special piece, size, paper quality, or hand embellishment. Each print is numbered (e.g. 1/10) and signed by the artist. The exclusive nature of a limited edition print effectively raises it’s value. Unlike limited edition prints, open edition prints may be endlessly reproduced. Because there is no limit to the number of prints that can be made, open edition prints are priced lower than limited edition prints.
